Police: Threat investigated, found non-existent at Waupun school

Posted

The Waupun Area School District  says a threat made to the district has been investigated and found to be non existent.

The district will operate under an Administrative Hold on Tuesday.

It means that class will resume as it normally does, but with limited movement by students and staff.

The district says around 11 p.m. Monday, a Waupun Area Junior Senior High student posted a message on social media threatening to harm the school.

Principal Steve Lenz then contacted the school liaison officer, who with Waupun Police and the Dodge County Sheriff's Department, found the threat nonexistent.

Waupun Police will provide additional officers throughout the day in and around the school.

The district says parents do have the option to keep their students home for safety reasons.
