Police remove pair of vehicles from East River

Posted

The Green Bay Police Dive Team removed a pair of vehicles from the East River just south of Monroe Avenue near Streu's Pharmacy Friday afternoon.

According to Green Bay Police, a woman reported she drove her car into the river. When they went to pull her car out, they found a second vehicle that had been reported stolen in April that was covered in zebra mussels.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources deployed a containment boom to stop any spills from contaminating the river.

One other vehicle had been pulled from that part of the river recently, according to police.
