Police searching for driver of hit-and-run in Manitowoc

MANITOWOC, WI-- Police are looking for the driver of a hit-and-run who struck a bicyclist in Manitowoc. 

It happened at the intersection of N. 8th Street and Waldo Boulevard on Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. 

Police say the vehicle did not stop for a red traffic signal and hit the front tire of the bicycle, knocking the bicyclist off the bike and into the street. 

According to the victim and a witness on scene, the driver of the vehicle got out to check for damage on his vehicle and then fled the scene without checking on the bicyclist. 

The vehicle was described as a possible tan Buick. 

The driver was described as a short, heavy set male in his late 40s or early 50s.
