After an investigation, Appleton Police said they found no evidence of bullying during an incident at an elementary school on December 12. The alleged incident went viral after a post on social media.

The School Resource Unit of the Appleton Police Department learned about the alleged incident involving physical harm of a student at Horizons Elementary. The incident allegedly happened during a school recess period.

After interviewing staff and students, reviewing video and looking at medical records, police said they believed the allegations were exaggerated or false.

Police said there was an incident, but they do not believe bullying occurred as "reported in social media posts."

No charges will be filed in the case, police said.
