WASHBURN, Wis. (AP) -- Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting that left two people dead in Bayfield County.
Authorities say dispatchers got a call about 7 a.m. Sunday about a shooting, then the phone went dead.
Sheriff's officials traced the phone number to a residence in the Town of Kelly.
Deputies found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds on the ground outside the residence.
The woman died at the scene. The man was taken by helicopter to a Duluth hospital, where he later died.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice and State Patrol helped process the scene.
The couple has not been identified. Authorities have not said whether they are searching for a suspect.
