Police are investigating a strong armed robbery in Oshkosh. 

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday on Nebraska Street near W. 16th Avenue. 

A man said he was struck in the head from behind. The suspect told the victim to give up his money. 

Police said the victim refused and was hit again with an unknown object. 

The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect ran off. 

Police said the suspect is described as a black man with dark clothing. 

The suspect may have gotten into a vehicle after running east from the robbery. 

The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

Oshkosh Police are reminding citizens not to walk alone at night. Instead walk in groups on well-lit and busier streets. 

Officers said you should be vigilant as you walk. Lone walkers are more likely to become targets for street crime.
