Police Investigate Shots Fired during Disturbance

MENASHA, Wis—One person is in jail after allegedly firing shots during an altercation.
 
It happened on Sunday, December 4th around 12:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Third Street.
 
The man was able to make it into an apartment before officers were able to make contact with him. Officers monitored the area, and waited for the suspect to leave the apartment. Once he left, he was taken into custody without incident.
 
A weapon was not recovered, but evidence at the scene indicated that two gun shots had been fired in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
 
Further investigation revealed the man had been in a verbal altercation with a woman at that location. The couple does share a child. No one was injured during the incident.
 
The suspect was taken to the Winnebago County Jail. The Department is recommending charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety with a Firearm, and Disorderly Conduct.
