UPDATE: The suspect involved in the standoff has been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his leg, according to Green Bay Police Dept.
Officers used the SWAT team to get a man out of a house.
Police say they responded the 3400 BLK of Baywatch Drive for a “distraught” male that was held up in his house. Responding officers learned that the male was previously armed with a gun and refusing to come out of the house. The complainant left the house and did not know if the man was armed again.
Once officers learned of the threat, they alerted neighbors to leave their homes or go in their basement. Officers also requested after school activities at Red Smith School be canceled and alerted the bus companies to take alternate routes for kids that had school. Meanwhile, officers were at the residence still attempting to contact the male to have him come out peacefully.
