UPDATE: Just before 1:00 PM, Green Bay Police were called to the Leo Frigo Bridge for reports of a 45-year-old Green Bay man standing on top of his vehicle on the bridge. When officers arrived, the man was sitting on the side barrier. He said he had taken several pills and was threatening suicide. He also said he had a knife.

Officers were able to talk with the man for about 25 minutes, and convince him to come off of the ledge. He was taken into protective custody, and later to a hospital.

Both lanes of the bridge are now back open.

Green Bay Police are advising traffic to avoid the Leo Frigo Bridge for what they are calling a police incident.

The northbound and southbound I-43 lanes are closed and traffic will be detoured for several minutes.

Police will notify the public when it is back open.
