Police are asking the public for information about an incident involving a deceased dog.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a call on December 12 about a dog that was deceased with a gunshot wound to its front left shoulder, found on public hunting grounds in the Town of Nepeuskun at Radke Rd. in Ripon.
The Sheriff's Office says the dog is a black and white German Shepherd mix that had been reported missing from a home in Fond du Lac County on November 18.
Detectives say that a veterinarian exam showed the dog had older wounds to the rear legs that were consistent with being hit my a motor vehicle.
The Sheriff's Office is asking that anyone involved with an accident, the shooting of the animal or if you have information about either of those incidents to contact their office at (920) 236-7367.
