Green Bay, Wi -- The owners of the green bay bullfrogs unveiled plans for a new home for the team and more at today's redevelopment authority meeting
But not everyone is thrilled with the idea Shawn Kassien is the president of the neighborhood association where the bullfrogs currently play-- he says losing the team could mean an empty park nearby
“It’s a tinder ecosystem one thing falls then the next thing falls we just don't want to see that happen” says Kassien.
But those in favor of the proposal say it's something they've already considered
“We would not be leaving Johannes unless we knew there was a plan to fill our shoes and continue to play great baseball” responds Connor Calois of big top baseball, one of the owners of the green bay bullfrogs.
Others confirm that park has a waiting list and Mayor Jim Schmitt one of the people backing this multi use stadium.
“for the city to continue what it's doing and remain competitive with Milwaukee and Madison this is the right move” says mayor Schmitt
A move that could take some time and cost the city millions, but for those in favor it’s well worth it .
With a goal for the final decision for the project expected May 18, if approved the facility wouldn’t open until 2018.
