Payless Shoesource has filed for bankruptcy protection.
As part of the filing, the retailer will close nearly 400 stores in an attempt to restructure its debt load.
Payless is the 10th and latest retailer to file for bankruptcy protection this year.
Stores closing in Wisconsin include locations in Wausau, Rhinelander and Milwaukee. The company's full list of store closings can be found here.
