Patners in Education: Communities

Posted

A program at Oshkosh North High School is helping students get college, career, and community ready. Students earn credit in History and English through completing community projects. "I really like how it stretches you, "said Claire Laufer.

One of those projects was creating a safer biking culture, Once the community has a need, we adopt it and immerse ourselves.," said Cora Strand.

The students work with community and city leaders to plan and complete projects, "We talk about things you can use every where;handshakes, eye contact, speaking to a group," said Tyrese Haliburton.

The goal is to empower the students  for their future.
