Franklin Middle School was awarded a Partners in Education Grant through the Shopko Foundation to start a new after school program for girls interested in science careers. "Serious About Science" or SAS Girls hopes to offer students a chance to try experiments, take field trips and connect with women professionals working in science and medical professions. The $1,000 will be used to buy microscopes and kits to get started.
