A love of music and passion for celebrating diversity has sparked a new band at Washington Middle School in Green Bay. Students from 6th grade through 9th are learning how to play Mariachi music through a new after school activity. With help from grants through the school was able to purchase two guitarróns and vihuelas for the students. Music teacher Jessica Mansky says the opportunity is staff and students celebrate the Hispanic heritage.
