The Mindful Minions First Lego League is one of 36 teams advancing to First Lego League State Tournament. The world wide program challenges students from around the world to build and program a Lego robot and learn to solve both scientific and real world problems.
The Mindful Minions is a group of 5th & 6th graders from four elementary schools in Appleton and Kimberly. Starting from scratch the kids built and programmed the robot to complete various tasks. “These kids put it all together they become a team and they perform at their highest level and the results really show,” said Coach, Mike Cattelino.
Part of the program is to research a real world problem. The Mindful Minions researched White-Nose Syndrome in bats. The team donated bat houses to nature areas. They will present their project at state as well.
The team competes at state in Janesville on February 26th.
