Students at Webster Elementary School are putting on Junior Broadway version The Lion King. As an Art Smart School, students 3rd-5th grade put on a musical for the community to show off their talents. In total 70 students will be part of the program from actors to stage hands. "The want to be involved in these activities, " said Music Director Kevin Flogel.
Ashton Clark, who is playing Mufasa, says he enjoys the challenge of memorizing lines and performing in front of his peers, "You go out on stage it's like "wow" these people are here to see us," said Clark.
One of the challenges with the Lion King is learning to sing in African, "it's tricky at first, said Aria Hoffman.
Flogel says parents are amazed at how well their children do every year.
The School will have three shows. March 14,15 and 17th.
