De Pere Middle School students showed off their speaking skills at the schools first TEDx event. The program asks students to share their contribution to the world or am important message worth spreading. Jolie Guyette wanted to empower women, " I see that a lot where people say you can't do that because your a girl and makes me really mad when I hear that," said Guyette.
The event was organized by teachers and staff to challenge students to find their voice, "Every decision they make now whether they like or not is going to affect their future and to have them start to think about their place in the world is important because they can participate no matter what their age at," said Joshua Gauthier.
