Blood donations saved Jason Pansier's life. Now the Ledgeview Fire Department and Jason's family teamed up to host a blood drive, so others can have a second chance as well. Pansier was trapped for two hours after his tractor rolled over critically wounding him, this past summer. He lost his leg in the accident, and needed 300 units of blood and dozens of surgeries to survive.
He was thrilled at today's turnout, saying " It's been phenomenal the way people stepped up. And now they're stepping up to give blood to help out other people, it's extremely phenomenal. It's just outstanding."
There's a particular need for "O-Negative" blood donors, because it's the universal blood type used in emergency rooms.
