The Green Bay Packers open their home schedule on Sunday, September 25 against the Detroit Lions.

Here are some things you need to know heading into the game:

•DOT Travel Advisory: The Wisconsin Department of Transportation issued a travel advisory ahead of Sunday's game. I-41, WIS 172 and I-43 could experience significant backups near the stadium, as could the I-41 interchanges at Oneida Street, WIS 172 and I-43. Barrier walls, orange barrels, and narrow lanes will affect travel.  Due to the I-41 Project construction, Ashland Avenue through De Pere and Ashwaubenon will also experience increased traffic congestion as additional motorists use this as an alternate route. The heaviest congestion is expected three hours before and after the game. For online traffic information go to www.511wi.gov or call 511.

•Police Warn of Ticket Scams: Police warn fans to use caution when buying tickets through secondary sources. Counterfeit tickets prevented some fans from entering Lambeau Field to see the Badgers-LSU game in early September. Fans can be safe by going through the NFL Ticket Exchange or outlets like Ticket King or TicketMaster for verified Packers tickets.

•Game Day Security: The Packers will follow strict security procedures for each home game this season. Fans will be screened by walking through metal detectors at each gate at Lambeau Field. Bags and purses must be clear plastic vinyl or PVC and not larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Small clutches that do not exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches are permitted. Stadium cushions are not allowed, but stadium seats and stadium pads that have no pockets or zippers and are less than 18 inches wide are allowed. Items will be inspected as fans enter the stadium. •Tailgating-Stadium Opening Time: The Lambeau Field parking lot will open at 8:00 AM for parking permit holders. The gates to Lambeau Field open two hours before kickoff for each home game this season. Kickoff between the Lions & Packers is Noon on Sunday.
