Oshkosh police continue to investigate a fatal car crash that killed four-year-old Arya Vaughn.

Officers say the driver of the car that hit Vaughn is fully cooperating and voluntarily submitted a blood sample to officers.

Police are currently awaiting the toxicology results, which could take several months.

Officers say the preliminary investigation indicates that the accident doesn't appear to be criminal in nature and there is no indication that alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.

After police finish the investigation, officers will submit the case to the Winnebago County's District Attorney's Office for review.

On May 3, the Oshkosh police and fire departments responded to a report of a four-year-old child that had been hit by a car while riding her bike at the 1300 block of W. South Park Avenue.

Vaughn was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Sliders and Treats is hosting a benefit for the Vaughn family Saturday from 12 p.m.-to-5 p.m. at 1429 S. Main St. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the family.

If you'd like to donate but can't go to the benefit, you can donate cash or checks to Oshkosh branches of Associated Bank. Tell the bank it's for the Arya Vaughn fund, account number 2185613029.
