OSHKOSH, WI -- The bands were playing familiar holiday melodies Thursday night as they marched through downtown Oshkosh.

Right now, the city's downtown looks like a setting where Doctor Seuss would have felt right at home.

The theme for the 34th annual Downtown Holiday Parade was "Welcome to Whoville."

The grand marshal, local radio personality Bob Burnell, was tickled to be hosting.

"It's not because I'm the biggest Grinch in town," says Burnell, "I know we have a Whoville theme, but I'm not the biggest Grinch in town.  It's a great honor.  I have no idea why anyone would want me to be the grand marshal, but I'm touched, I really am."

Oshkosh students helped set the scene by painting store windows in the downtown area  with Doctor Seuss images.
