The 48th annual Downtown Appleton Christmas parade takes place this Tuesday. The parade is the largest night-time parade in the Northeast Wisconsin.

The parade begins around 7 p.m. The streets will be blocked off to vehicles by 4 p.m. Side streets between Fourth and West College Avenue will close around the same time.

A reminder to people attending the parade, no alcoholic carry-ins are allowed, along with glass containers and no animals are allowed at special events downtown.

The parade begins at State Street and College Avenue. It will travel east down College Avenue and end at Drew Street.

Last year's parade drew about 80,000 people to the downtown area. Organizers expect this year with nice weather to see as many as 100,000 people.
