KAUKAUNA, Wis—One person is without a home, after an overnight fire.
It happened in the 200 block of West 9th street around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The woman woke up and saw flames. She was able to make it out safely with her dog before crews arrived.
“When we did arrive, we did see heavy flames coming out the rear of the structure. Before we even made entry we had heavy flames coming out the front door already.” Said Assistant Chief Chad Gerrits.
Firefighters say they were able to knock out the fire quickly, though they remained on scene to put out any hot spots.
Damage estimates are around $30,000 dollars.
There cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The American Red Cross was on scene to help the woman displaced by the fire.
