One shot fired during neighbor dispute

Posted

People in the area of the 1300 block of S. 19th Street in the City of Manitowoc might have heard a gunshot around 12:30 AM last night.

Police officers were called to reports of a "disturbance" at that location between neighbors. One suspect was damaging a neighbor's residence and vehicle by throwing decorative brick pavers.

The suspect also had a semi-automatic .22 caliber handgun and was pointing it at the other neighbor, but did not fire the gun.

The suspect, a 30-year-old Manitowoc man, did fire one round from the gun to the west of the intersection of S. 19th Street and Madison Street.

Officers who responded were unable to determine where that round struck.

The suspect was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail and held on charges of two counts of recklessly endangering safety, criminal damage to property/DVO related, disorderly conduct/DVO related, and endangering safety by intoxicated use of a dangerous weapon.

Anyone with more information or who finds possible damage on their property in this area should contact the Manitowoc Police Department.
