The Green Bay Metro Fire Dept. says one person is hurt after a water rescue Thursday afternoon.

Crews say this happened just before 3:00 p.m. at the City Deck in downtown Green Bay.

According to the fire department they arrived three minutes after receiving the call that someone was in the river and needed to be rescued.

A civilian boater was in the area and was able to throw a flotation device to the person in the water to keep them afloat until a GBMFD water rescue boat could get them out.

The person was rescued from the water and taken to the hospital. There is no specific information about injuries.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Dept. wants to remind boaters to have a throw able flotation device on their vessel.
