A 16-year-old Sheboygan boy died after his car crashed and started on fire Tuesday evening.

At about 5:34 p.m. Tuesday, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a single motor vehicle crash on Stahl Road west of Frontage Road in the town of Wilson, Sheboygan County. The vehicle was reported to be up against a tree and on fire.

Sean A Zempel was the lone occupant in the vehicle and he did not survive.

Sheriff’s deputies and a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper responded as well as the town of Wilson Fire Department.

The vehicle was fully engulfed in fire when the first deputy arrived. Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling east on Stahl Road, lost control after crossing railroad tracks and struck a tree.

Also assisting at the scene were town of Wilson first responders, Orange Cross Ambulance and the Kohler Fire Department.
