One hospitalized after garage fire in Green Bay

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of a garage on fire at the Sycamores Apartment Complex on Sycamore Drive in Green Bay at 10:19 a.m. on Friday, November 11.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully engulfed, four stall detached garage.

A press release from the Green Bay Metro Fire Department states that the majority of the fire was knocked down within 10 minutes.

Firefighters remained on the scene for 3 hours to complete extinguishment, overhaul and investigation.

Adjacent garages suffered melted siding from radiated heat.

One male resident of the apartment complex was treated for burns and transported to a local hospital.

The cause of the fire is believed to be a malfunction in a car that was under repair. 

It is estimated that $70,000 worth of damages resulted from the fire.
