One person has minor injuries and is displaced from their home after a kitchen fire according to the Green Bay Metro Fire Dept.
Crews say the fire started happened Saturday at a home in the 1200 Blk. of Cedar St.
When crews arrived, they found a fire on the second floor back porch with smoke coming from the home. Crews say the fire started on a stove top.
According to the fire department, the occupant had a pan on the stove that caught fire and attempted to throw it out the back door, which started the rear porch on fire. The person then jumped from the second floor due to the smoke.
The person was checked out for minor injuries.
There’s about $10,000 in damage.
Crews want to remind people to never leave cooking unattended.
