The Shawano County Sheriff's office reports a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop Friday night just before 10 PM on N. Genesee Street in the Village of Wittenberg.
The driver failed to stop and took off, beginning a chase that reached speeds over 100 mph. The pursuit lasted 10 miles until the suspect crashed in Marathon County.
The driver, a 38-year-old Antigo man ran from the vehicle but was later arrested.
He now faces charges of fleeing an officer, operating while revoked, drug possession and an active warrant.
The Shawano County Sheriffs Office was assisted by the Marathon County Sheriffs Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Wittenberg Ambulance Service.
