Safety concerns were on the minds of the public attending a meeting in Oconto County discussing a shooting range.
The range was shut down due to safety concerns about two years ago.
A new design has the range facing east, away from homes in the area. It also calls for plans to dig it deep into the earth for safety and to reduce noise, which should be a good change for neighbors.
"These houses were being struck on the side; some people kind of had the annual anniversary of replacing their siding,” said Dave Behrend, town of Morgan resident. “So, no, they never had a weekend, they never had a quiet evening. This was kind of a loose running automatic weapons range for anyone that wanted to drive here.”
There will also be security cameras to monitor the range.
