Today IKEA will formally announce the new store coming to Oak Creek.
IKEA has been considering expansion into the Milwaukee area for nearly a decade. Currently the closest retail store is in the Chicago suburbs.
Ikea already has stores throughout Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
The new store will overlook I-94, on Drexel Ave. on Milwaukee's South side.
Thursday's announcement will also include renderings of what the new store will look like.
