Students at NWTC held a celebration Tuesday to recognize their success with a philanthropy project.
The students in the team building and problem solving class broke up into teams to see who could raise the most money and awareness for their chosen cause.
Team Lyme raised over $17,000 to benefit those suffering with lyme disease. Team member Samantha Woods says, "Awesome, awesome to know that we can relieve their burden for them. It's great. It just adds to everything else that I learned from this project."
The 60 students were divided into eight teams. In the end, they helped nine different organizations including Rainbow House, Eye Heart World and Golden House, to name a few.
