MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Jonathan Santaga caught the go-ahead touchdown pass and made one of Green Bay Notre Dame's four interceptions as the Tritons dug out of an early hole to beat Waukesha Catholic Memorial 19-17 and claim the WIAA Division 3 state football championship on Friday at Camp Randall Stadium.
Robert Petitjean hit Santaga for a 32-yard touchdown pass for the decisive points, capping a three-play, 80-yard drive after Notre Dame (12-2) picked off a pass in the end zone.
The Tritons intercepted Catholic Memorial quarterback Alex Bray again after Santaga's go-ahead score, but couldn't put the game out of reach when they turned the ball over on downs at the Crusaders 2.
Catholic Memorial (11-3), which scored the game's first 10 points, advanced to the Notre Dame 48, but the threat ended when Bray's fourth-down pass was broken up.
