CRIVITZ, WI---- As hunters head North for the gun deer season, communities they pass by are cashing in.
The economic impact of Wisconsin’s deer season is roughly one billion dollars and Crivitz is one of those communities benefitting from it.
Hunters are stopping in at the Piggly Wiggly in Crivitz for some last minute items.
"The excitement that all the deer hunters and everybody bring in makes the store feel exciting so we enjoy the hunters,” says manager Rebecca Zillges.
Also restaurants like Gateway Bar and Grill are busy from the moment they open. People living in Crivitz will tell you their community is like deer season headquarters.
"Most of the time it starts Wednesday and they come up through here and there's just constant steady flow of people," says Shannon Starzer at Gateway.
Just a safety reminder, traffic is much heavier along 141 through Crivitz so remember take it slow.
