Those wanting to see the Northern Lights have a good chance over the next few nights as a geomagnetic storm watch has been issued for Tuesday.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association , the moderate geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for Sept. 11 "due to the anticipated onset of coronal hole high-speed stream."
The NOAA reports that the most likely area of aurora extent will include an area that features the lower peninsula.
When looking at the NOAA's three-day aurora forecast , there is a chance that the Northern Lights will be seen over the course of several nights. The best timing appears to be from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday -- and a small chance between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Wednesday into Thursday.
