Northeast Wisconsin Republicans, Democrats react to Presidential Inauguration

Cheers, and even tears, erupted in Allouez Friday as Republicans in Brown County celebrated Donald Trump's Inauguration.

"I do think that he is going to be the people's president," said Republican Judy Krawczyk.

For Republicans, it was a day of optimism.

"I think Donald Trump has tapped onto the pulse of the voters," said Krawczyk.

On the other side, it was a day of fear.

"It scares me because the president should be an intelligent person, should wrap themselves with intelligent, experienced people," said Rich Langan with the Democratic Party of Brown County. "He's doing neither of that."

Some of Northeast Wisconsin's members of Congress attended the inauguration, saying it was a showing of unity.

"There was a sincere spirit of patriotism throughout the day, and I think everyone, Republican or Democrat, recognize that this is bigger than all of us," said Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wisconsin).

For state legislators, it shows a chance for power to return to the states.

"Instead of being dictated to, as we have been during the last eight years, we can have a coordinated effort between Washington, D.C. and Madison, Wisconsin, in serving the people of the state," said Rep. John Macco (R-Ledgeview).

Democrats however, are not convinced.

"I think the decisions that are going to be made for America, from now, for the next four years, are going to be very poor," said Langan.

Republicans disagree, celebrating the start of American history under President Trump.
