A garage fire on the Fourth of July caused damage to a Grand Chute home, but luckily no one was hurt.
The Grand Chute Fire Department responded to reports of a garage fire at 4037 Cattail Court just after 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. The people inside were evacuating the home.
When crews arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the garage and extending into the attic, the fire department said. The fire was quickly knocked down, but it caused damage to the garage exterior, eaves and attic.
There was also smoke and water damage inside the house.
No one was hurt. The cause is still under investigation and there is no cost estimate of the damage yet.
The Appleton Fire Department and Fox Crossing Fire Department also responded to the fire.
