A new mobile app is helping you stay safe from criminals. The iDistress app records video and flashes bright lights to scare away attackers. It also has a siren built in and can instantly dial 911 in an emergency.

The man who designed it in Ashwaubenon says he wanted to create an app to provide personal protection.

"I have a pistol, and I was wanting to put a light on it. The tactical lights will flash on and off to stun, so you might not have to use the pistol. I thought why not turn that into a phone app that kids, you know, anyone that couldn't even carry a pistol could always have on their phone," explains Zachary Edlund.

The app is available in the Apple Store for iPhones.
