UW Green Bay student Amber Wilde was last seen on September 23, 1998. Now, after 18 years, police are officially calling her disappearance a murder case.

Police detectives tell NBC26 they filed a subpoena to search the phone records for her boyfriend at the time, calling him a person of interest.

Officers working on the case say they've always believed Wilde died under suspicious circumstances. Police hope the new information will help generate more leads from the public.

NBC26 is not naming the man under investigation until formal charges are filed in the case.
