New London was invaded by little green men Monday.
The New Dublin Leprechauns changed the name in a tradition going 33 years strong. The name change begins a week a festivities in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
"33 years ago they decided after a couple of years playing around they petitioned the City Council to actually change the name of the town over to 'New Dublin,'" said Robert Leahy, one of the New Dublin Leprechauns.
"At that time we were only bringing in another five or 6,000 people to visit and see the parade. Now we bring in 30 to 40,000 people to this town for the St. Patrick's Day parade," he said.
New Dublin will host their annual St. Patrick's Day parade downtown Saturday at 1 p.m.
