NBC estimates the Democrats will have 229 seats in the House, and the Republicans will have 206.
The 2018 midterm election was presented as a referendum on President Donald Trump halfway through his first term as president.
In Wisconsin, Bryan Steil held Paul Ryan’s seat for the Republicans defeating Randy Bryce in the 1st District.
Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore won re-election in District 4 easily against challenger Tim Rogers.
In the 6th District, Republican Rep. Glenn Grothman is currently holding on to a lead over Democratic challenger Dan Kohl.
NBC also projects Republicans will keep control of the U.S. Senate after Texas Sen. Ted Cruz won re-election against Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke.
