Navy Week has kicked off in Northeast Wisconsin, and kids at the Boys and Girls Club of the Fox Valley had the chance to learn about the importance of STEM Monday as part of the week's activities.

The U.S. Bomb Squad and diving team showed kids how they use STEM, which stands for science technology, engineering and math, every day in their jobs. They taught kids what it means to be a part of the "bomb squad."

"It's extremely important, they're our future taxpayers and people who are depending on us to give protection to them as we go overseas so we just owe it to them to show what we do," said Lt. Jr. Grade Joshua Werling.

The USS Green Bay sailors also helped kick the week off by throwing the first pitch at the Timber Rattlers game.
