The McDonald's corporate twitter account appeared to take a shot at President Donald Trump on Thursday morning.
At around 8 a.m., McDonald's corporate Twitter account tweeted at the President's personal Twitter account, calling him a "disgusting excuse for a President.
"@realDonaldTrump You are actually a disgusting excuse for a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands."
The tweet was also briefly pinned to the top of McDonald's feed, and the message was deleted shortly after.
The company did not immediately respond for a request for a comment.
McDonald's responded to the incident on Twitter, claiming their account had been hacked.
"Based on our investigation, we have determined that our Twitter account was hacked by an external source. We took swift action to secure it, and we apologize this tweet was sent through our corporate McDonald’s account," said Terri Hickey, a spokesperson for McDonald’s.
Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this.
