Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett announced on Facebook Tuesday that he will not be running for governor.
Barrett, a Democrat, lost the gubernatorial race to Republican Scott Walker in 2010 and in the 2012 recall election.
He wrote on Facebook that change in Madison "starts with electing a new governor, a governor who puts Wisconsin first and not his national ambitions." However, Barrett wrote that he loves his job as mayor and hopes to serve in that position for many years to come.
