Residents in Menasha will soon be paying money to City Hall.
The Common Council voted Monday night to increase property taxes by about 3%. Government spending also saw an increase of about 2%, mostly to cover municipal employee pay raises.
The proposal to use government fund money to replace lead pipes in residential units across the city failed to pass on a 4-4 vote, with Mayor Merkes abstaining from the tie-breaking vote.
Leaders say will continue to review other proposals to remove lead pipes from the city water supply.
