APPLETON - Meijer hosted a hiring event at on Thursday, hoping to fill more than 150 positions at the Grand Chute Supercenter, which is expected to open later this spring.
Potential candidates were able to apply for available positions, be interviewed and get job offers the same day. The company interviewed applicants for mid- and entry-level jobs, as well as specialized positions like meat cutters or cake decorators.
"As construction and preparation continues, beginning the hiring process is our next step in bringing a new Meijer store to the Appleton area," said Jamie Miller, North Wisconsin Market Director for Meijer. "One of our core values at Meijer is treating our team members like family, and we are looking for energetic and motivated customer-focused individuals to join our team."
Since opening its first store in 2015, Meijer has hired more than 3,000 people in Wisconsin to work in its nine stores and distribution center.
