Appleton neighbors are helping decide the future of a dangerous intersection in their city.
Dozens of people turned out to a public meeting, highlighting planned changes at the intersection of Richmond Street and Northland Avenue.
The plan is to turn the intersection into a multi-lane roundabout.
Project leaders say multiple crashes, and other safety concerns led to the call for change.
"There are capacity concerns, and pavement condition concerns, but really [how] it was driven, and how it was funded, was safety,” said Tim Rank, DOT Project Manager. “So, we'd hope people would understand that the reason why we're doing what we're doing is to make things more efficient and more safe."
Construction is set to begin in June of next year.
