Lawrence University coach Mark Speckman, born without hands, tells NBC26 the mediation process is underway to settle a lawsuit with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Speckman is suing the DOT saying the agency discriminated against him when he tried to get a Wisconsin driver's license after moving to Appleton for his coaching job. The two sides met Wednesday to begin talks. Speckman says he expects final details of the settlement to be worked out by Wednesday, October 5.
