SUAMICO, WI -- Brown County unveiled a new master plan for the New Zoo and Adventure park.

The plan is 75-pages long.

Zoo leaders say the goal is to utilize all 16-hundred acres of the zoo, adventure park and reforestation camp to establish the New Zoo as a regional destination for adventure.

The plan lists more than $30 million worth of projects. The timeline looks at most of the projects to be completed in the next 10 to 20 years.

One of the largest projects listed on the budget is a $5 million entry plaza with an overhead tree-tops adventure course.

There are also new animal exhibits listed on the budget including $4.5 million for an Asiatic Bear and Amur Tiger exhibit.

Zoo leaders say they want to modernize a guest's experience.

"You may have aerial trials that the animals may be able to follow. You might be walking out to see the moose and a lynx might be walking right next to you," said Neil Anderson, the New Zoo Director.

"How do we get families engaged in healthy lifestyles, outdoor activities, spending time with family? These are the things we know are really important for our community," said Brown County Executive, Troy Streckenbach.

County leaders say the money for this plan will come from fundraising throughout the community.

Zoo leaders say they expect attendance could jump from 225,000 to 300,000 visitors per year with the implementation of this plan.
